Amazon.ca price tracker
Amazon.ca lists the same product at several prices at once. A shirt in medium can sit at one price while the large is five dollars cheaper, and the page shows you whichever variant Amazon picked as the default. Sold-by matters too: the price you see moves when the buy box changes hands between Amazon and a third-party seller.
What counts as a variant at Amazon.ca
Amazon's variants are the swatches and dropdowns under the title — size, colour, capacity, pack count. Selecting one rewrites the price without reloading the page, so two people looking at the same listing can be looking at different prices.
Copying the right link
Select the variant you want first, then copy the URL from the address bar. The part that matters is /dp/ followed by ten characters. Amazon appends tracking parameters that are safe to leave in — we read the product identifier and ignore the rest.
What we can't do
- The buy box can switch between Amazon and a marketplace seller, which changes the price without the product changing.
- Lightning deals expire on a timer, so a drop can reverse within hours.
- We read the listed price, not what you pay after Subscribe & Save or coupon clipping.
How checks work
Once a product is tracked, Drophunt checks its price daily and emails you when the variant you chose drops. We don't publish price history for products nobody has asked us to watch, and we don't republish other people's price data.
